ELLA commissioned Summer Dregs to create a song using sounds found in the East Lake neighborhood of Chattanooga, TN. He accepted the challenge and created a sound-portrait of the neighborhood he and the residents of East Lake call home.

The Sound of Clean

A lot of people associate East Lake (my neighborhood) with broken bottles, old tires, loud cars, kids yelling and sirens. I took those sounds and made them sound the way I hear them: beautiful.

Summer Dregs is Emmy & Image-Award Winning engineer, composer and producer Carl Cadwell bringing unique music to life. From scoring films and ballets, to producing and mixing pop artists, Summer Dregs works with collaborators to make art only they together could make.

Carl started off touring with jazz-fusion and old soul outfits. When Carl‘s drive to blend beats, classical, and experimental pop could no longer be contained in a single band, he started producing and writing songs under the name Summer Dregs. His penchant for reckless ecstasy, neon synths and collaboration has led him to work with many musicians, choreographers, and film makers across the country. These include Nick Lutsko, Bbymutha, Ballet Counterpointe, Ben Crump (How to Sue The Klan), Mon Rovia, and Sunny War.
